CSA Project, Pennsylvania, USA

Sebastian built up and managed this diversified biodynamic farm between 2004 and 2010 – the farm is an enterprise of Camphill Ecovillage Kimberton Hills and is now operated by a different person.  During this time Sebastian established a profitable CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) farming business integrating sustainable technologies such as on-farm Biodiesel / SVO production as well as rainwater harvest and flat plate solar collectors.
On the basis of this “living textbook” farm platform Sebastian also piloted the US’s first multi-year European style apprenticeship program for beginning farmers.  Through this systematized two year praxis & theory on-farm vocational training program Sebastian educated over a dozen young farmers as well as numerous interns and volunteers.  As head farmer and business man  of this diversified crop and livestock operation Sebastian built roads, greenhouses, fields and pastures as well as various other infrastructural systems on a 25 acre land base.
